Higher productivity, reliability and availability
RemoteLine, the proven remote diagnostic tool from the SmartLine portfolio of the CHIRON Group, is now connected to the Cloud via Mindsphere, the IoT platform from Siemens. It enables users to evaluate and analyze machine conditions on a broad data base. The advantage of the open IoT operating system: It was designed specially for the requirements of machine manufacturers, provides the highest level of development in regard to functionality, safety, availability and scalability, and is regarded as the logical continuation of Siemens' web-based ePS network services.
Customers are networked with CHIRON, STAMA or SCHERER inside MindSphere. Every customer can therefore administer their own area in the Cloud solution. Following approval by the customer, the companies in the CHIRON Group are granted access to the machine information in the customer's area. Data sovereignty therefore always remains with the customer because he decides what information he wants to make available and to whom for the purpose of evaluation, for example for condition monitoring or tool management.
Using a dashboard, data from all machining centers and systems can be shown and administered via RemoteLine in the local or global machine park. An alarm monitoring system is connected here to detect and immediately provide information on critical machine data. In-depth analyses of this intelligent system lay the foundations for improved productivity, reliability and availability of the entire machine park.
Continuous digital process chain
The new software solution ProtectLine was designed to preventively protect machines against collisions in every operating mode. With ProtectLine, a digital twin continuously runs ahead of the real machine and protects it by detecting impending collisions. If a crash is preprogrammed, only the digital twin collides; the real machine is shut down in time in a controlled manner. ProtectLine therefore reliably prevents potentially serious and associated cost-intensive damage and production stoppages. When used together, the software solutions ProcessLine and ProtectLine from the SmartLine portfolio of CHIRON form an integrated digital process chain. Whereas ProcessLine simulates the real NC program in a preparatory stage, ProtectLine provides reliable protection against the consequences of operating errors in ongoing operation.
Prevention of production stoppages
ConditionLine constantly monitors and analyzes the condition of the machine and detects irregularities in operation at an early stage. The focal points here are all components which affect precision or frequently cause stoppages. This means that atypical operating behavior and signs of wear are detected early on. The advantages: maintenance and repairs can be systematically planned, a preventive measure which helps to avoid costly production downtimes. The special feature of the SmartLine module: A permanent connection with the Internet is not required. ConditionLine makes the connection in three extension stages from complete offline operation through to continuous connection with the CHIRON Group Condition Service. Every customer can therefore personally decide whether and to what extent they want to network their machining center.
