DZ 25 and DZ 28: Highly productive machining for the automotive and aerospace industries
Whether in the booming e-mobility sector or when dealing with the structural changes that the aerospace industry is undergoing, as ever, maximum efficiency is the order of the day when machining large and complex parts. The more productive a machining center is in manufacturing components and the shorter the cycle times are, the more economically space, energy and raw materials can be used. Multi-spindle systems like the new CHIRON series 25 and 28 with spindle distances of 800 or 1,200 mm are even more efficient and therefore sustainable. ”Our aim is to have a DZ 25 or DZ 28 manufacture two workpieces in the time a single-spindle machine requires for just one workpiece – with the same outstanding quality, of course. This not only pays off in terms of sustainability, but also with regard to investment costs,” explains Dr. Claus Eppler, CTO of the CHIRON Group.
Visitors in Milan can see how the new series perfectly combine performance, precision and dynamics in a pioneering fashion live on the DZ 25 P five axis with pallet changer for high quantities and short cycle times. The 28 Series and 22 Series with spindle distances of 600 mm will be presented by the experts in application and in detail in the interactive showroom.
The smart future of micromachining: Micro5
Visitors from the highly precise micromachining industry will be particularly interested in the Micro5, an extremely compact and dynamic machining center from FACTORY5. The “5” in the name stands for five axes, the ideal 5:1 ratio of machine size to workpiece and for a five times lower weight. And speaking of sustainability, it also stands for maximum efficiency, as the energy consumption is 50 times lower in comparison to conventional systems. At the EMO MILANO 2021, the CHIRON Group will present the Micro5 live in action and for the first time with the new, automatic Feed5 handling system.
Complete six-side machining with the new 715 Series
The latest addition to the product range and the interactive CHIRON Group showroom, which the expert audience can “visit” via large screens, is the new 715 Series for multifunctional machining of workpieces, for milling and turning with or without bar or for profile machining. The 715 Series, which is designed for autonomous processing on all six sides, completes the CHIRON Group's range for bar machining and impressively bridges the gap between the CHIRON FZ 08 S mill turn precision+ and the STAMA MT 733. The unit comprising a base machine and workpiece automation enables short lead times while loading and unloading the tool magazine during machine operation positively impacts the life cycle assessment.
Other topics presented at the exhibition for optimized production processes with an improved environmental footprint: The retrofit solutions from CMS, which offer a longer machine service life with increased productivity and reduced energy demands. The innovative AM Cube 3D metal printer for constructing large, complex components as well as for coating and repairs. An exciting use case demonstrates the perfect interaction of additive manufacturing and machining. And the digital systems of the SmartLine portfolio as well as the SmartServices guarantee optimum support in the ongoing operation of the machining centers. They offer additional efficiency, availability and productivity to conserve ambient resources: Multiple maintenance jobs at one site can be combined and scheduled for a joint appointment, for example, and disruptions can be rectified from afar thanks to remote support without travel and the associated CO2 emissions.
