Flight altitude: Future

Flexibility for current and future development projects: With three identically configured FZ 19 S five axis machines, the CHIRON Group is helping the chesco research center to bring new aerospace components from the digital concept to the test bench more quickly.

At the Center for Hybrid Electric Systems Cottbus – chesco – BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg develops, manufactures and tests components for new electric and hybrid-electric aircraft propulsion systems. For the manufacturing division, this means: a variety of projects, challenging materials and geometries, and maximum flexibility in machining.

The machining section of the manufacturing complex, which comprises a total of over 100 machines and systems, also includes three FZ 19 S five axis machines from the CHIRON Group. These three machining solutions combine the flexibility, dynamism and precision of the machining centers with the ProtectLine digital system, a zero-point clamping system and state-of-the-art 3D measurement technology.

Watch the video to find out more about how the CHIRON Group supports chesco in its research projects with manufacturing technology and development expertise.
