A global dialogue on the future of manufacturing

Whether at the OPEN HOUSE in Tuttlingen, the ILA in Berlin, the EPHJ in Geneva, the WINNOTIME in Shenzhen, at local technology days or with the Micro5 on Tour: In 2026, too, the CHIRON Group will be using a wide variety of formats to engage with users and bring complete solutions for demanding manufacturing tasks to life.

The focus is on specific applications, individual requirements and the question of how productivity, flexibility and process reliability can be further enhanced in practice. »For us, exhibitions and events are far more than just platforms for presentation,« says Matthias Rapp, Vice President of Global Marketing. »This is where ideas, specific projects and, often, the crucial discussions for future manufacturing solutions take shape. We see these events as a platform for direct dialogue – because the best solutions are developed together with our customers.«

OPEN HOUSE 2026 in Tuttlingen: Where Automation meets Machining Excellence

Machining centers in operation, well-attended specialist presentations and in-depth discussions right next to the machining solutions: OPEN HOUSE 2026 brought the theme »Where Automation meets Machining Excellence« to life in a truly impressive way for the more than 1,200 visitors.

How do manufacturing excellence and intelligent automation come together to form a productive overall system? The CHIRON Group demonstrated this, amongst other things, through the combination of an FZ 19 S mill turn and the new Variocell SYSTEM with Gantry Bot. When handling a rotary table housing for the mechanical engineering sector, the gantry automation system really showed its strengths: top-loading, a freely accessible working area and a greater reach than a conventional industrial robot. The automation solution realises its full potential in scaled applications – such as when loading and unloading multiple machining centers, including those of different types.

Another crowd-puller was the three new automation variants for high-productivity micro-machining with the Micro5 XL. These are designed to cover a range of application-specific tasks – from the linear loading and unloading of raw and finished parts, through pallet handling, to robotic handling of workpieces and additional process steps. The MT 715 two+ impressively demonstrated in live operation how complex components can be manufactured efficiently and in their entirety on a single machine. A ring with a wall thickness of just 1.5 mm was machined from a cylinder weighing 50 kg. The precisely coordinated machining strategy, combining milling and turning, ensures short chips and consistent productivity. The 715 Series is ideally designed for such demanding tasks involving high material removal and strong process forces.

The new, integrated event concept also contributed to the success of OPEN HOUSE 2026. All thematic areas – from Automation through Medical & Precision to Service Excellence and Exclusive Outlet – were clearly structured. Large ceiling banners helped visitors find their way around quickly, whilst illuminated mesh display units emphasised the industrial, practical nature of the in-house exhibition.

Many of the applications on display were accompanied by short, informative presentations. These provided further insights into technologies, processes and industry solutions, and enabled direct discussion with experts from the CHIRON Group.

»Where Automation meets Machining Excellence« was also brought to life by the 36 quality partners. Set directly within the context of the applications, they showcased their products and services across the entire metalworking value chain. The range spanned everything from tools and clamping technology, through measurement technology and CAM, to automation and digital solutions.

»Our conclusion after three intensive days: OPEN HOUSE 2026 was a resounding success,« says Matthias Rapp. »We didn’t just showcase technologies; we also discussed solutions with our customers, explored new avenues and developed concrete approaches for the manufacturing of tomorrow.«

Engaging with markets worldwide

From aerospace and medical technology to the watchmaking, microtechnology and precision engineering industries: the CHIRON Group showcased its technologies and manufacturing solutions at key industry events around the globe. The following photos highlight some of the key moments from the first few months of 2026.

Technology days, workshops and partner events round off the exhibition programme of the CHIRON Group. In collaboration with HAHN+KOLB, two days were dedicated entirely to modern manufacturing solutions, professional exchange and practical insights into machining, automation and efficient processes in Tuttlingen.
